100-amigos

Last saturday, El Kartel had a show entitled “100 Amigos” where 100 artists were given a square canvas to work on. Each piece sold for a 150$, 100$ went to the artist and the other 50$ went to charity. This was a very successful event although Parnell’s Peter Ricq “El Lucha” did not sell that night.

League Of Super Evil now on YTV and Cartoon Network

Friday, March 13th, 2009

pose4-flat2Parnell’s Peter Ricq has been working on his own animated TV show during the last four years in Vancouver. He’s co-created the show with Philippe Ivanusic and Davila LeBlanc who  co-wrote half the series together while P. Ricq was art directing and designing most of L.O.S.E.

This is a comedic show for kids 8 to 12 that appears to be quite  promising. You can view trailers for upcoming episodes, webisodes and play a really addictive flash game on www.leagueofsuperevil.com.

layer tennis!

Listen up kids! Parnell’s own Curse of the Multiples was asked to participate in Layer Tennis! Keep your eyes peeled on Friday February 6th.

The main concept is you take a Photoshop file and pass it along from designer to designer in ten different locations, with each designer adding a layer or otherwise embellishing the art and then passing it on.  Call it “Around the World in Ten Volleys” see more details at http://layertennis.com/

These 2.5″x3.5″ cards will be displayed on the gallery wall and the audience offered the opportunity to buy randomly selected cards in packs of five for $5. If the pack purchased does not have the desired card, you are invited to trade with the people around you. How bad do you want that art-card?
